Location & Access: Meeker is a short drive from Craig, Rifle, Glenwood Springs, Grand Junction, US Hwy 40 and Interstate 70. It also has a modern general aviation airport
with full-service fixed base operations and charter service.
Town Park/Town of Meeker Campground: Located at 4th and Water Street, this park/campground features nine overnight camping spaces (3-4 spaces w/electric hookup) a large covered pavilion with picnic tables for small or large gatherings, large playground area, restrooms and water.
Circle Park: Located on the south side of the White River. Camping is available, but there are no amenities.
Ute Park: Adjacent to Highway 13 west of Meeker Town limits, this park is comprised of 100
acres and designated primarily as open space. The park is leased to the Meeker Classic Sheepdog Trials for their annual event and the Smoking River Pow-wow (2008 & 2009).
Big Game Hunting: Meeker is home to some of then ation’s most extraordinary big game hunting opportunities as well as the largest elk herd in America. Thousands of hunters from
around the globe travel to northwest Colorado each year to admire the beauty and take home a prize animal.
Flat Tops Trail Scenic Byway: Visitors to Northwest Colorado are encouraged to trace the footsteps of this area’s original residents, the Ute Indian tribes who roamed the country
they called “The Shining Mountains”. The Flat Tops Trail Scenic Byway joins Colorado Hwy 13 approximately one mile east of Meeker at Rio Blanco County Road 8. The route extends along County Road 8 to Ripple Creek Pass, then over the pass and down into the village of Yampa, a total of 81 miles.

Polaris® to Host Official ‘RANGER Country USA’ Celebration and Donate RANGER® Vehicles
MINNEAPOLIS (Jan. 8, 2018) – After three weeks of voting, Polaris® will award Pinedale, Wyoming, with the title of “RANGER Country™ USA.” Located in west-central Wyoming, the town secured the most votes to win the title. To commemorate the RANGER-lifestyle embodied by Pinedale, Polaris will host a RANGER Country USA party which will include an official naming ceremony, donation of three Polaris RANGER® vehicles to deserving organizations and a special guest appearance. Polaris also will award the other four towns that participated in the campaign by donating three Polaris RANGER vehicles to local organizations.
This past fall, Polaris rolled its one-millionth RANGER utility side-by-side vehicle off the assembly line at its manufacturing facility in its Huntsville, Alabama. To commemorate this significant milestone, Polaris began a search for “RANGER Country USA” with country music star Jake Owen. The national campaign asked consumers to visit rangercountryusa.com and vote for the town they believed was most-deserving. Video profiles devoted to each town, showcasing the beauty of the land and the authenticity of the people were featured on the site. Corning, Arkansas; Darlington, Wisconsin; Spring Creek, Nevada; and Stephenville, Texas were among the four other towns vying for the title.
“All five of these towns embody the essence and hard-working values of RANGER and represent the RANGER country lifestyle,” said Kyle Duea, Marketing Vice President of Off-Road Vehicles. “In the eyes of Americans across the nation, Pinedale stood out as the town most deserving of the title ‘RANGER Country USA’ for helping us achieve our one-millionth milestone.”
Everyone who casted a vote as a part of the “RANGER Country USA” campaign was automatically entered for the chance to win an all-new 2018 PolarisRANGER XP 1000.
“I’ve said it from the beginning, as a guy from a small-town, these are my people and I could not be prouder to be a part of an initiative recognizing hard-working Americans across the nation,” said Owen. “All said and done, Pinedale won the title and I cannot wait to see what Polaris has in store for the celebration!”
Touted as “all the civilization you need,” Pinedale has a rich “mountain man” heritage, celebrated every July at the Green River Rendezvous, where the history of early American fur traders, trappers, and Native Americans is relived. CTEK MXS 5.0 Smart Charger Automatically Provides
Temperature Adjusted Charge Rate; Helps Extend Battery Life
Chicago, IL, — Since battery charging is an electro-chemical reaction whose efficacy is affected by temperature, the MXS 5.0 Charger/Maintainer from CTEK has an automatic temperature sensor to ensure the duration and rate of charge is exactly the amount needed. The microprocessor-controlled CTEK MXS 5.0 (part # 40-206) is the first in a new generation of smart chargers that is able to sense the battery condition throughout the charging cycle, avoiding overcharging that can damage cells and shorten battery life.
“Cold batteries need a higher charge voltage in order to push current into the battery plates and electrolyte, while warmer batteries require a lower charge voltage to eliminate potential damage to cells and reduce unnecessary gassing,” said Bobbie DuMelle, executive vice-president of CTEK North America. “The CTEK MXS 5.0 automatically adjusts the charging rate depending on ambient temperature to ensure ideal charging in extreme cold or hot weather conditions.”
The CTEK MXS 5.0 smart charger also continually monitors the battery throughout the charging process, adjusting the charging rate to the battery condition. It offers 4.3 amp charging current as well as the company’s proprietary, eight-step battery care program. Included in the eight steps are desulphation and reconditioning phases that can restore discharged batteries to peak condition. Each stage ensures that any lead-acid battery is optimally conditioned, charged and maintained. If desired, the MXS 5.0 can maintain a battery indefinitely without the risk of damage to the battery or delicate vehicle electronics.
“Our new MXS 5.0 charger features a unique combination of advanced charging modes coupled with automatic temperature sensing,” said DuMelle. “It is the fastest, most effective and easiest-to-use consumer charger CTEK has ever made.”
DuMelle went on to note that the battery in today’s automobile is under enormous stress from the plethora of electronic devices incorporated into its design, both for engine and drivetrain management, as well as entertainment. “The alternator is not capable of fully recharging the battery and, as a result, many batteries never achieve their full service life,” DuMelle said. “The use of a CTEK charger can help double or even triple average battery life.”
The MXS 5.0 charger is the first CTEK product to be sold in North America using the thoroughly tested 5.0 platform, which has won numerous industry and media awards in Europe where it was first launched. The MXS 5.0 will be followed by a number of other specialized battery chargers based on similar technology.
The MXS 5.0 has two battery analysis programs, which can quickly identify whether the battery is capable of taking and holding a charge. The integration of an automatic temperature sensor means the MXS 5.0 battery charger will continually adjust the charge rate depending on ambient temperature to achieve maximum charge levels.
The new generation CTEK MXS 5.0 revives, charges, conditions and maintains all types of 12V lead-acid batteries including wet, calcium, GEL, EFB and AGM; for cars, motorcycles, UTV, watercraft and more. Patented float and pulse maintenance stages ensure that once fully charged, the battery can be maintained indefinitely on vehicles that are not used for an extended period, without the risk of overcharging or undercharging. All CTEK battery chargers deliver extremely clean voltage and current, with very little supply ripple to ensure sensitive vehicle electronics are protected. This also means the battery does not need to be disconnected while charging.
The CTEK MXS 5.0 has safety features including a welded casing, which seals the smart battery charger against dust and moisture. It also employs a new cable strain relief design to provide protect against the risk of cable breakage, particularly in extremely cold weather. The charger is fully automatic, and has a one-way quick connector that is spark-proof and reverse-polarity protected for user safety.

Production of the Textron Motors engines that power the Stampede will move from Germany to the company’s St. Cloud, Minn. production facility, which already produces several four-stroke off road engines for ATVs and side-by-sides, and two-stroke engines for Arctic Cat snowmobiles.
Some Alterra and XC ATVs, and HDX and Prowler side-by-side models, will retain the Arctic Cat brand while inventory lasts.
To avoid product overlap, the Textron Off Road Recoil® and Ambush® side-by-side product lines, as well as the Onslaught™ ATV, will be discontinued.

The Armory SST gun case (MSRP $199.99) and the Armory X Rack (MSRP $159.99) work in tandem to store and transport two weapons (requires two Armory SST cases and one Armory X Rack). The design of the system positions the cases over the dump bed of most vehicles, leaving the bed clear for gear or game. With the cases locked in place on the rack, the guns are always pointed up and away for superior muzzle control. The Armory SST offers a unique locking hinge which keeps the case open, freeing up both hands to place, retrieve, or work on the gun while in the case. The shape of the case will accommodate any long gun up to 52” and ARs with or without optics. Moveable foam blocks inside the Armory SST case keep the weapon firmly in place, assuring nothing makes contact with the sights or optics even over the roughest terrain. The Armory SST case is easily installed or removed from the Armory X Rack without the need for tools. A durable, glass-filled nylon lever is large enough to easily operate with gloves or mittens, and once released, the case lifts right out. With the Armory X Rack attached to both sides of the dump bed, its stiff, rigid, and strong—staying securely attached to the vehicle no matter how aggressive the terrain gets.

AMSOIL Signature Series 5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil protects against harmful deposits on turbochargers 4X better than Mobil 1 Extended Performance and 3.6X better than Royal Purple in industry-standard testing.*
Signature Series 5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil was tested against both oils to determine which provides the greatest level of protection against deposit formation in high-heat applications.
The TEOST (Thermo-Oxidation Engine Oil Simulation Test) 33C test (ASTM D6335) is an industry-standard bench test that simulates turbocharger operating conditions. To meet the API SN Resource Conserving and ILSAC GF-5 motor oil specifications that are often recommended by vehicle manufacturers, a 5W-30 motor oil must limit total deposit formation to 30 mg or less.
AMSOIL Signature Series 5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil held the total weight of deposits to 7 mg, well under the 30 mg limit required by the API and ILSAC, while Royal Purple API 5W-30 and Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5W-30 came in just under the limit at 25.4 mg and 28.2 mg, respectively.
