TEAM KYMCO KEP Factory Racing Takes On the Famous and Fierce Vegas to Reno Race

Spartanburg, South Carolina: TEAM KYMCO KEP (KYMCO Extended Protection) WARP Factory Racing takes on the Vegas to Reno, grueling, brutal, and agreeably savage off road race this week, August 16-19. Sharing the challenging joys of riding for the team on the KYMCO MXU 700i LE are popular ATV pro racer Adam McGill, newly crowned GNCC 4x4 Lites National Champion Justin Wood, and Team Captain Alex “Wicked Al” Koolitz. 

KYMCO UXV 450i - UTV Demo

There is very little basic about the basic UXV 450i, the compact utility vehicle that wears the big boy pants. With a chassis designed for maneuverability, the UXV 450i doesn’t skimp on performance. A large capacity, gas-assisted tilting cargo bed, outstanding ground clearance and 443cc, fuel-injected engine with CVT automatic transmission make the UXV 450i a true workhorse. When the terrain gets tough, go from 2WD to 4WD with the turn of a switch. When it gets impassable, switch on the differential lock and watch it really perform. You never really know a machine until you spend time with it on your own turf.  When KYMCO released their innovative UXV 450i more than a year ago we were impressed.  The new mid-sized machine looked great, had several innovative features, and it was an all-new chassis.  We knew there was more to discover with the 450i though, and we couldn’t wait to get it on the trail and to work.

(April 25, 2014) – After a successful launch last year, the 2014 American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo) announced that KYMCO USA will return as an OEM exhibitor at the second annual show October 16-19 in Orlando, Fla. KYMCO was a founding manufacturer exhibitor at the inaugural AIMExpo and, as part of its 50th anniversary celebration this year, the brand plans to expand its presence at the event.

There are few better ways to test a vehicle than to set off on a back country adventure.  You get to know a machine when you rely on it to reach a destination and we did just that recently with KYMCO’s all-new UXV 700i.  The terrain we would cross on our ride was no flat Iowa prairie, but instead we would set out to conquer the Gateway Canyon region of rugged, Western Colorado.

A few months ago, we tested a KYMCO UXV 500i Side x Side in the rocks of Moab, Utah.  Recently we had a chance to try an all-new 2013 MOAB Special Edition UXV 500i across the road from Charlotte Motor Speedway.  KYMCO had a big surprise waiting for us with the Moab Special Edition UXV 500i, but it wasn’t their only new model.  They’re also introducing two new ATVs, including one with their biggest engine yet.

Last year we spent a couple days prowling around the woods of South Carolina on KYMCO’s UXV 500i and it performed extremely well crawling over downed timber, crossing streams and mud holes, and maneuvering through the tight trees.  This year we would be giving the UXV an entirely new challenge and rather than the Eastern woods, we would be taking it into some of the toughest, yet most beautiful terrain on the planet.  Saddle up for UTAH!
