Hendershot Performance Wins Two Championships With Can-Am Maverick 1000R X RS

Father-and-Son Team Wins AWRCS and WEXCR SxS Titles

Valcourt, Québec, October 23, 2013 – Team Hendershot Performance / Can-Am® won the finale double-points round of the American Woods Racing Championship Series to capture both the UTV Open XC1 class and overall AWRCS UTV championship. The Can-Am Maverick™ 1000R X® rs team, comprised of Larry Hendershot Jr., and Sr., also won the 2013 Woods Extreme X-Country Racing Open UTV class. “It’s great to have the Hendershot father-and-son team win two different side-by-side woods racing titles. Their success also conveys the appeal of the race-ready Maverick 1000R.” said Jeff Leclerc, Racing Project Leader, Can-Am. “I speak for everyone at BRP who was involved with the development of the Can-Am Maverick, when I say these two dedicated racers deserve a round of applause for their championship efforts.”

Valcourt, Québec, October 17, 2013 – Can-Am® ATV and side-by-side racers competed in many different off-road series last weekend, coming away with a couple championships and several wins. Can-Am DS 450™ racer Travis Moore wrapped up the New England ATV Motocross Series Pro class championship with a podium finish at the series finale in New York. Maverick™ 1000R pilot Steve Beilman secured the 2013 UTV Unlimited class championship with a top-five finish at the Lucas Oil Off-Road Regional Racing Series race in Southern California.“Can-Am ATV and side-by-side racers had a great weekend, winning two overall championships and putting themselves in position for perhaps several more,” said Jeff Leclerc, Racing Project Leader, Can-Am.

Valcourt, Québec, October 10, 2013 – Can-Am® Maverick™ 1000R side-by-side racer John Pacheco finished second at the Dirt Series finale in Riverside, Calif., to win the Pro Production 1000 class championship. Several Can-Am ATV and side-by-side racers took part in the Texas Quad Racing Association (TQRA) ATV Pro Challenge weekend in Texas, winning three classes and earning at least two championships. Can-Am Maverick pilot, Kyle Chaney, earned the SxS overall and QR1 class win at the UTV Rally Raid Northern Series event in Tennessee.“Despite a very busy weekend, Can-Am racers came away with one side-by-side class championship, two ATV MX titles, and four total victories in three different forms of racing,” said Jeff Leclerc, Racing Project Leader, Can-Am. “I’m very thrilled to learn we won the Dirt series SxS Pro Production 1000 championship and two Pro-level championships in TQRA.”

Valcourt, Québec, October 2, 2013 – Can-Am® side-by-side racers took the top four spots in UTV 1 Open class results at Round 5 of the Woods Extreme XC Racing series in Amesville, Ohio. Maverick™ 1000R pilot Treavis Poynter earned his first overall and class win of the season. First-time Maverick 1000R racer Jim McKay also won both the SxS overall and Production 1000 Sportsman class at the DWT PURE 250 event in California City, Calif. Can-Am ATV racers also participated in round 11 of the New England ATV Motocross series, earning 15 total podium finishes.“I was pleased to learn that Can-Am Maverick racers won two growing race series this past weekend. Valcourt, Québec, September 26, 2013 –Can-Am® ATV racers won four 4x4 classes and put two riders on the overall morning podium at round 11 of the AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country series in Foxburg, Pa. U2 class racers Rob Smith, who won the class for fifth time in 2013, and Jordan Phillips reached the morning podium on their Can-Am Renegade® 800R EFI 4x4s. On the West Coast, Can-Am Maverick™ pilot Pablo Veglia notched an impressive second-place finish in SxS Modified class in the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks Series.“Utilizing our industry-leading 4x4 system, Can-Am racers overcame the horribly muddy conditions at the first-ever Gusher GNCC to win four 4x4 classes and earn two spots on the overall morning podium,” said Jeff Leclerc, Racing Project Leader, Can-Am. “The fact that we had five Can-Am 4x4 vehicles in the top eight finishing positions in the 10 a.m. session during a super muddy event says a lot about both our racers and our vehicles.”

Valcourt, Québec, September 15, 2013 – BRP has expanded its line of Can-Am® side-by-side vehicles with the new 2014 Commander™ MAX 1000 and Maverick™ 1000R X® mr. The new models were unveiled at its dealer show in Orlando, Fla. Along with the two new vehicles, BRP also unveiled a new Can-Am Red colour for the Maverick two-seater and Maverick MAX packages, and Light Grey on certain Outlander™ 4x4 ATVs. Commander MAX 1000 DPS / XTThe new Can-Am Commander MAX 1000 DPS has a 29.5-inch (75 mm) longer wheelbase (29.5 in. / 75 mm) and seating for four adults as compared to the two-seat Commander. Outfitted with Dynamic Passenger Comfort, which includes dual handholds, stadium-style seating and industry-leading comfort for its rear occupants, the Commander MAX is also available in an XT package. Both Commander MAX models use the proven 976cc Rotax V-Twin engine; Tri-Mode Dynamic Power Steering, Double A-arm front suspension and TTI rear suspension. The Commander MAX can tow up to 1,500 pounds (680 kg) and carry 600 pounds (463 kg) in the dual-level cargo box. The Commander MAX DPS and XT are offered in Yellow. The XT package, which includes a WARN winch, front bumper, mud guards and more, is also offered in painted Pure Magnesium Metallic and NEXT G-1 Vista camouflage.
