Disneyland has been called, “The happiest place on Earth.”  For off-road lovers, the happiest place on earth is at Brimstone Recreation’s White Knuckle event.   This year over 9000 fun- loving, smiling, and at times dirty off-road lovers converged on the ATV and UTV friendly town of Huntsville, Tennessee for the annual festival of all things country.

Camping is part of many people’s trail and travel plans and we’ve decided to list some of the basics needed for a riding and camping adventure.  We always go for gear that is durable, compact, and easy to pack on an ATV or Side x Side.  Here are our favorites:

No doubt it was shortly after the first vehicle was invented that somebody decided it would be a great idea to pull a wagon behind it and double the working capability.  The first problem they encountered was getting their little train rolling.  The second was more of a surprise when they tried to get it all stopped.  That desire to tow a trailer would never diminish though, and whether the load was a utility trailer or a heavily loaded semi, the problems of safely controlling and stopping the vehicle would always be a concern.

Burning Rock is another West Virginia ride area that considers the riding only part of the experience.  They think of everything when it comes to outdoor adventure and they’ll even help you plan it.  Want to camp, fish, go white water rafting, or even try zip lining?  You can experience it all at Burning Rock and if you need a guide or lessons they’ve got that covered too.

Last year we spent a couple days prowling around the woods of South Carolina on KYMCO’s UXV 500i and it performed extremely well crawling over downed timber, crossing streams and mud holes, and maneuvering through the tight trees.  This year we would be giving the UXV an entirely new challenge and rather than the Eastern woods, we would be taking it into some of the toughest, yet most beautiful terrain on the planet.  Saddle up for UTAH!

The term MONEYBALL was first used to describe an enormously disadvantaged Oakland A’s professional baseball team’s struggle, and unique solution, to fielding a competitive team against elite organizations like the New York Yankees.  What originated off the diamond in the depths of the Oakland Coliseum quickly entered the lexicon of all sports, and today the term MONEYBALL has come to represent far more than purely statistical data of slugging percentage, defensive capability, and on-base percentage.

It’s the little details that can make or break any project.  Ben Darbone of Scott, Louisiana is one rider who won’t let anything slip by.  As a safety inspector for a fire safety company, it’s his job to notice all the little things, but Ben doesn’t just turn off those skills when the day’s work is done.  Some people just can’t help bringing their work home with them.

The RZR 4 is one of the most fun, all-purpose side by side vehicles we have ever driven.  When given the chance to put some miles on it and really see what the RZR 4 LE is capable of, we couldn’t get it on the trail fast enough.  With just over 4000 trouble free miles logged on our 2011 RZR 4 LE, you can bet we had a chance to ride in many different conditions, and it met or exceeded our expectations every time.

Every ATV & Side x Side rider has a little bit of explorer blood coursing through their veins.  A century or two ago, the riders of today would have no doubt been the ones to turn their horse West and venture out into unknown territory as the fur trappers, mountain men, scouts, and pioneers of the time.  It would have been the chance to live on one’s own terms, to explore mountains, prairie, rivers and plains, and with a little luck, to possibly even strike the mother lode.
