Coastal Racing and their Ranger RZR XP 900 Take Best in the Desert UTV Championship

Minneapolis, Dec. 4, 2012–With the Best in the Desert Championship up for grabs, the BITD Henderson 250 would determine the fate of the teams in the running. Scott Kiger and Mark Holz in their Coastal Racing No. 1934 RZR XP 900 came into the race trailing the leaders by a mere four points. Matt Parks and Jason Spiess in their No. 1932 RZR XP 4 900, and Brandon Schueler and Blake Van De Loo in their No. 1919 RZR XP 4, both from Team Polaris/Jagged X racing, have had an up and down year and were looking to end the season on a high note.

November 27, 2012 - In celebration of the Triple Crown of Surfing, Alpinestars will be heading up numerous activities on the island of Oahu, HI. In support of our surfers, keep your eyes out for the Alpinestars brand ambassador team who will be combing the beaches of Sunset and Pipe handing out freebies to the masses. Keeping true to our motorsports heritage, Alpinestars will be taking over Kahuku MX Park for race day on Sunday, December 2. There, we will be raffling off autographed gear, running a design-your-own-boot contest, and giving away lunch catered by Wahoo’s to all who attend. Lastly, be sure to stop by both Wahoo’s locations on Oahu to enter to win a surfboard autographed by Astars Hawaiian surfer, Gavin Gillette, who is also competing in the Triple Crown of Surfing this month.

Motoworks / Can-Am DS 450 Team Wins 2012 Baja 1000

Valcourt, Québec, November 26, 2012 – After a 27-hour battle with the most brutal racing terrain the Baja Peninsula of Mexico has to offer, the Motoworks / Can-Am DS 450 team of Josh Frederick, Jeremie Warnia, Collins Webster and Jarrod McClure crossed the finish line ahead of 297 other starters and 1121 miles away from the start line of the Baja 1000 in Ensenada, Mexico. Once across the line, the team was officially declared the Pro ATV-class winner of the 45th running of the Baja 1000.“This team was prepared to deliver BRP its first Pro ATV-class victory in over a decade and the first for the DS 450 ATV,” said Jimmie O’Dell, Can-Am off-road race manager. “The dedication by the entire Motoworks team was evident from pre-running to the finish; I am proud that they are an important partner with BRP.”

CYPRESS, Calif. – November 19, 2012 – Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A.’s, OHV Access Initiative – the industry leader in Guaranteeing Responsible Access to our Nation’s Trails (GRANTs) – approved new funding last month that will help seven different organizations across six states.These organizations are helping to implement Yamaha’s mission of supporting safe, responsible riding and open, sustainable riding areas through a variety of projects on the ground level.  Since its inception in 2008, the Yamaha OHV Access Initiative has funded nearly 200 such projects across the country.

Yamaha Employees Celebrate Champs; Make Annual Feed the Children Food Drop

CYPRESS, Calif. – November 16, 2012 – Yamaha ATV Racing has captured 2012 season championships in motocross and cross-country, from North America to the Southern Hemisphere, all aboard the world’s most high-performance, race-dominating ATV, the YFZ450R. Yamaha employees gathered outside of the company’s U.S. headquarters in Southern California today to celebrate their champions and make their annual Feed the Children food drop along with the Star Touring and Riding® Association.  This year Yamaha helped raise more than $27,000 through employee donations and corporate fund raising efforts that will provide food and essentials for approximately 2,000 families across the country through next year.  Today’s food drop will support 400 families in Garden Grove, Calif.
