BRP Announces 2015 Can-AM ATV and Side-By-Side Vehicle Racing Team

Valcourt, Québec, March 3, 2015 – BRP has announced its team of ATV and side-by-side vehicle racers for the 2015 season. After the most successful off-road racing season in history, which saw Can-Am racers earn premier class championships with both ATVs and side-by-side vehicles all across North America, BRP remains dedicated to off-road racing, with its Can-Am X-team and Can-Am racing contingency and amateur support programs.“We had the most successful Can-Am off-road racing season ever in 2014, which was highlighted by championships in SCORE International (Class 19), the GNCC SxS XC1 and SxS XC2 class titles and all four 4x4 classes. We captured numerous championships in several different racing disciplines, from motocross to hare scrambles to endurance events and want to continue this level excellence with our 2015 team,” said Jeff Leclerc, Racing Project Leader, Can-Am. “The Can-Am team is full of dedicated and highly skilled off-road racers who strive to be the best in their respective series and sport.”

CYPRESS, Calif. – March 3, 2015 – Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., was awarded the 2015 FinOvation Award from Farm Industry News magazine for its Viking VI Side-by-Side (SxS) utility vehicle. The FinOvation Award is designed to celebrate the spirit of innovation and recognize new products that have received the most interest from Farm Industry News readers. This is the second consecutive year Yamaha has received the award. In 2014, the premier Viking model that introduced the first true three-person seating capacity in a SxS vehicle earned a FinOvation Award. “We’re honored to receive the FinOvation award for a second consecutive year,” said Steve Nessl, ATV/SxS marketing manager, Yamaha Motor Corporation. “It’s especially rewarding to know the award is based on positive responses from people who rely so heavily on their utility vehicles for day-to-day toughness, durability and performance in the field.” Nessl accepted the award on behalf of Yamaha at the 50th Annual National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville.

Suzuki Celebrates 14 Years of Assembling ATVs in the USA

BREA, Calif. – When opened in 2001, the Suzuki Manufacturing of America Corporation (SMAC) created hundreds of jobs in Rome, Ga., to assemble Suzuki’s 400cc and 500cc ATVs. Now celebrating 14 years of ATV assembly, the facility today has expanded to cover more than 130,000 square feet on a 35-acre site in the suburb northwest of Atlanta. Workers there now handle metal fabrication, injection molding, and engine assembly in the process of assembling Suzuki’s complete line of award-winning KingQuad ATVs. “The SMAC facility has produced over 400,000 ATVs that have been distributed not only here in the U.S., but also to our Suzuki distribution partners around the world,” added Rod Lopusnak, Director, Operations Head, Motorcycle/ATV Sales Operations.

CYPRESS, Calif. – February 26, 2015 – Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., has announced its 2015 ATV race teams featuring reigning champions and contenders riding the 2015 Yamaha YFZ450R in both the national MX and cross country series. Leading the MX teams for Yamaha in 2015 is three-time AMA Pro ATV champ Chad Wienen on his Wienen Motorsports/SSI YFZ450R. He is looking forward to starting his title defense at the inaugural Daytona SX event. Maxxis/Moto-XPerts Thomas Brown, who took third in AMA Pro ATV competition in 2014, returns to Yamaha again this season and also has his sights set on a 2015 championship.
