USSOCOM Recognizes Polaris Defense at AUSA Event

WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 13, 2014) — U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Lt. Col. Utsler recognized Polaris Defense today, during an event at AUSA, for the company’s rapid delivery and support of the Light Weight All-Terrain Vehicle (LTATV) contract. Contract execution included support of user evaluation and government testing, delivery of vehicles with tactical accessories to multiple USSOCOM locations, and providing training and sustainment parts to those locations. Polaris CEO Scott Wine praised USSOCOM for its willingness to partner with private industry and accepted an American flag that has been flown on multiple missions over Afghanistan.

(NYSE: PII) is excited to announce the launch of the DAGOR™ ultra-light combat vehicle, at the 2014 Association of the United States Army Annual Meeting, in Washington, D.C. , Oct. 13-15. The DAGOR was designed and tested, and is now under contract and in production – all in less than two years – leveraging Polaris’ world class off-road engineering and design capability, to meet an emerging threat to SOF and light infantry forces. “The DAGOR was engineered to meet a very demanding set of light-mobility needs for our customer,” said Jed Leonard, manager of Advanced Mobility Platforms, and Polaris Defense. “It provides the optimal balance of rapid air transportability, payload and advanced mobility. (Ken) Pucel to fill its newly formed Executive Vice President of Operations, Engineering, and Lean position.  Ken currently serves as EVP of Global Operations, Quality, and Technology for Boston Scientific Corporation (“BSC”), and is expected to start with Polaris in late-November, 2014.“During a stellar 25 year career with BSC, Ken established a track record of consistently delivering significant results in a complex global business,” said Scott Wine, Polaris Chairman and CEO.  “He is known for his decisive leadership and team-first attitude, and has repeatedly displayed those traits while driving innovation and improvement in products and processes.  Ken has a wealth of practical experience in designing and implementing Lean operations that produce meaningful, lasting results in safety, quality, delivery, and cost reduction, which will be invaluable as he spearheads our charge toward becoming a customer-centric Lean enterprise.”

Jagged X Wins Rigid Industries SCORE Desert Challenge

Minneapolis, Oct. 3, 2014-The Rigid Industries SCORE Desert Challenge is a two-day, semi-short course format held at Coyne Powersports Complex near Imperial, Calif.  The classes were divided into groups and each group raced in two heats with the times being combined to determine the winners. Jagged X’s Brandon Schueler would fill in for Matt Parks in the No. 1932 RZR and start in fifth place for the first race. Schueler would work his way towards the front, chasing Polaris Racer Johnny Angal for a few laps, and finally take the lead to the flag. Angal would finish second in his UTV Inc. RZR. On Sunday, the second race would see Schueler and Angal start on the front row. Schueler was able to pull the hole shot and take it pole-to-pole for the win. Angal would take second overall by only 15 seconds.

Polaris Announces Grand Opening of Manufacturing Facility in Poland

MINNEAPOLIS (Sept. 23, 2014) – Polaris Industries Inc. (NYSE:PII) today announced the grand opening of its new manufacturing facility in Opole, Poland. The 345,000-square-foot facility will be the first Polaris plant dedicated to manufacturing Off-Road Vehicles (ORV’s) outside of North America.Employee training has already begun at the Opole facility which will employ 300 people in 2015 and should begin shipments to customers in the first quarter of 2015. The plant will produce approximately 35 different ORV vehicle models in 2015 and ship them to six subsidiaries and over thirty distributors in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (“EMEA”) region. Opole will also house research and design for the Europe, Middle East and Africa markets allowing vehicles to be tailored to local needs.

Inaugural Camp RZR East was Smashing Success

Minneapolis, Sept 23, 2014-Camp RZR rolled into Brimstone, in Huntsville, Tenn. last weekend and was met with an overwhelmingly positive response with more than 12,000 people attending, making it the largest event ever held at Brimstone. "Polaris’ Camp RZR exceeded our expectations for attendance and overall benefit for the town of Huntsville, Tenn.,” said Mayor George W. Potter. Camp RZR East provided attendees with entertainment, giveaways, vendors, a kid’s zone and Polaris staff on hand to answer questions. Attendees experienced acoustic sets at the “RZR Oasis” with Josh Thompson and Lindsay Ell; and rocked out to nighttime entertainment including Natalie Stovall and The Drive, Josh Thompson, Borrowed Blue, Lindsay Ell, and Dierks Bentley.

Baron Seals WORCS Championship with Win at Round 8

Minneapolis, September 17, 2014-Polaris Factory Racers were back in action at Glen Helen, in Devore, Calif. for WORCS Round 8. Polaris/Holz Racing’s Beau Baron would take another win to seal the WORCS Pro SxS championship for the second consecutive year. Starting in the front row, Baron would take second off the start and take the lead when Polaris Factory Racer Mitch Guthrie Jr’s car suffered an unfortunate mechanical issue. Another fellow racer, Polaris/Loan Mart/Holz Racing’s RJ Anderson would finish second moving him to fourth in the series points for the class. With one round left, Polaris Factory Racer Ryan Piplic sits in second in points with fellow Polaris Racer, Mitch Guthrie Jr. in third.“Polaris would like to congratulate Beau on another incredible season,” said Donna Beadle, Polaris Factory Racing Race Team Manager. “Beau and all of our WORCS Factory Racers, RJ, Ryan and Mitch, have done a great job keeping RZR on top of the box.”
