Polaris Acquires Aixam Mega

 MINNEAPOLIS (April 11, 2013) — Polaris Industries Inc. (NYSE:  PII) today announced the acquisition of A.M. Holding S.A.S., which operates under the name Aixam Mega S.A.S., a privately owned company based in Aix-les-Bains, France which manufactures and sells enclosed on-road quadricycles and light duty commercial vehicles in Europe.   The acquisition of Aixam Mega significantly strengthens Polaris’ existing small vehicle portfolio, which includes GEM and Goupil vehicles, and enhances the profitability and growth potential of Polaris in the EMEA region.“Aixam Mega is an excellent fit with Polaris and offers a unique opportunity for us to expand our small vehicle platform and accelerate international growth,” said Scott Wine, Polaris Chairman and CEO.  “We are committed to positioning Polaris as a global leader in the growing small vehicle market and this investment reaffirms Polaris’ commitment to building a global business capable of delivering long-term, profitable growth.  Consistent with our recently announced plan to build a new manufacturing facility in Opole, Poland, the Aixam Mega business acquisition is indicative of our confidence in EMEA to be a contributor to Polaris’ pursuit of productivity, innovation and growth. ”

Valcourt, Québec, April 10, 2013 – Can-Am® 4x4 ATV racers earned seven of the top 12 overall morning finishes, won a total of five classes and earned all 15 possible class podium positions at round three of the 2013 Amsoil Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) in Morganton, N.C. JB Racing / Can-Am DS 450™ Pro Jarrod McClure earned fifth in the XC1 ATV Pro class. At round two of the Texas Off-Road Nationals (TORN) in Paradise, Texas, Louis Powersports / Can-Am racer Cody Miller won the Pro ATV class and his teammate and Maverick™ 1000R X® rs pilot Hunter Miller took second in the UTV Expert class.“Our Can-Am ATV racers had a great Saturday at the Steele Creek GNCC in North Carolina, winning all five 4x4 classes and, once again, sweeping the morning 4x4 podium. Michael Swift notched his first U2 class win aboard the Renegade® 800R X xc while defending 4x4 Open class champion Bryan Buckhannon remained undefeated in 2013,” said Jimmie O’Dell, Race Manager, Can-Am.

White Knuckle Event 2013

HUNTSVILLE, TN.- February 4, 2013 OHV enthusiasts from throughout North America will gather in Huntsville, TN for the annual White Knuckle Event (May  24th-May 26th) to enjoy the Cumberland Mountains, competitive events and the latest country hits from Nashville’s finest. The White Knuckle Event (WKE) is Brimstone’s springtime main event held annually on Memorial Day. Branded as the “hold on tight” event of the year, the White Knuckle Event attracts off-road enthusiasts from throughout the country. It is tagged as the “Woodstock of ATV and SXS Events” going on its seventh year with attendance doubling each year. The event throttles up on Friday the 24th starting with guided trail rides throughout the day and Ritchie Brother’s ultimate “Dueling Drag Race” under the Southern lights of the Half Cabin event arena.

RZR XP 900 raffled for Moore Family

At this year’s High Lifter Mud Nationals, Polaris donated a RZR XP 900 to raffle in memory of Caleb Moore. The unit was dressed with donations from other companies including High Lifter wheels and tires, Pro Armor doors, a Kicker audio system and a Toyskinz Caleb Moore replica wrap. Fly gear provided gear for two people and Rockstar Energy Drink donated Rockstar for a year to the winner. With the Moore family in attendance, Colten Moore drew the winning ticket, who was Austin Hopkins of Kilgore, Texas. The raffle raised $14,400 for the Moore family.

AMSOIL GNCC Continues With Round 3 This Weekend in North Carolina

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (April 2, 2013) - After two rounds of racing in the 2013 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series, there's no denying four-time champ Chris Borich's sheer domination in the XC1 Pro ATV class. However, the battle for second through tenth place is a lot less predictable with a deep field of talent on this year's front line.Heading into this Saturday's FMF Steele Creek GNCC in Morganton, N.C., Round 3 of the 13-race series, Borich will once again attempt to fend off his competitors in hopes of taking home a third straight win this season. However, it was in North Carolina that Borich experienced his first loss of 2012, which may come into play during Saturday's two-hour competition. AmPro Yamaha's Walker Fowler currently sits in second place as he continues to chase Borich for a win. Fowler has struggled with poor starts in the first two rounds but the 20-year-old has successfully charged his way through the pack to secure two solid podium finishes so far this season.

Cequent Continues Partnership with Brad Keselowski Racing for 2013

Bulldog® will make its debut at the Texas Motor Speedway on June 7th in its first race ever. Valcourt, Québec, April 1, 2013 – Can-Am® Maverick™ 1000R side-by-side vehicle driver James Hill finished second in the SxS Pro Production class at round three of the World Off-Road Championship Series (WORCS) in Arizona. Brothers Derek and Jason Murray also earned a podium finish with their Maverick 1000R X® rs, racing to a third-place finish in the Best In The Desert (BITD) Mint 400 outside of Las Vegas. At the 2013 Mtn. Dew AMA ATV Motocross Nationals opening round in Georgia, BCS Performance / Can-Am pro Josh Creamer finished second in the Pro class aboard his DS 450™.      “I was thrilled that Can-Am racers earned hard-fought podium finishes in three different series, and in very difficult conditions,” said Jimmie O’Dell, Race Manager, Can-Am. “James Hill overcame a challenging WORCS course to earn his second podium behind the wheel of the Maverick. The Murray Motorsports team had a spectacular podium finish at the Mint 400 and narrowly missing second-place by only two seconds. Josh Creamer — despite a first-turn crash in the first moto and very wet, muddy conditions — won a Pro class moto and notched an impressive second-place finish overall at round one of the AMA ATV MX series.”

After a brief hiatus, Destination Polaris has returned to national television on the Fox Sports Networks beginning April 7, 2013.
