Arctic Cat is known for building vehicles with incredible performance, but with their Prowler HDX 700, they showed their skill at designing for the hard working, utility crowd as well. The HDX 700 comes equipped with an extremely smooth running, 695cc, liquid cooled, SOHC, 4-stroke, 4-valve engine. Electronic Fuel Injection insures excellent starts and crisp throttle response at any temperature or elevation and the engine is both quick and powerful. Cat designed the HDX to appeal to sportsman and work crews. Rather than bucket seats, the HDX comes with a three person bench seat, tilt steering, a combination digital /analog gauge package, a dash mounted shifter, and power steering; which is especially welcome when hauling a heavy load or using front mounted attachments like a snow plow.
To accommodate the three person bench seat, the chassis is ten inches longer than the standard Prowler and the extra room was put to good use with dual side storage compartments ahead of the rear wheels. Under the front hood, there is also a cavernous storage area. A couple other features we really like about the HDX 700 are the premium quality FOX air assist shocks which can be adjusted for whatever load you’re carrying, and the transformable rear dump box. The box side panels are made of a tough, pliable plastic that holds up to extreme abuse yet is resistant to scratches or ordinary use. The panels can be removed for a flat cargo bed and a handy work bench. Finally, the HDX is equipped with strong cast aluminum wheels. Because of its tough, hard working features and the smooth running 700cc engine, the ARCTIC CAT HDX 700 is the best Heavy Duty Side X Side of 2011.
