2014 Polaris Off-Road Line Up

logo.2013.polaris-industries.blue__0.jpgPolaris has become a leader in the off-road industry by continually evolving its off-road offerings and Model Year 2014 is another year of innovation for the company. The RANGER line of utility vehicles will see three new products, RZR vehicles will have several enhancements and the addition of a new, premium trail edition, and Sportsman ATVs are taking the legendary and one of the bestselling 4x4 ATVs of all-time and making it better.

“Polaris has become the industry leader by aggressively introducing new products and continuing to innovate our current product lines,” said David Longren, Polaris Off-Road Division’s Vice President. “Model Year 2014 is bringing several new products and more enhancements to the most-complete, off-road vehicle offering on the market.”

The legendary Sportsman® 500 has been the flagship of the Sportsman line since its introduction in 1996. For Model Year 2014, Polaris is taking its legendary, best-selling 4x4 ATV of all-time and making it better with the launch of the Sportsman® 570 EFI. The Sportsman 570 EFI takes the best-in-class Sportsman 500 H.O to the next level with the addition of the liquid-cooled, single-cylinder Pro-Star™ 570 engine with electronic fuel injection, better ergonomics for increased comfort, new styling and more convenience features; while still offering the best pricing in its class, $6,499. Along with the base model, Polaris is offering a 1-passenger model with Electronic Power Steering (EPS) and a two-passenger model, the Sportsman® Touring 570 EFI, providing a full line of value-priced 500-class ATVs.

For Model Year 2014, Polaris’ Premium line of ATVs, featuring the Sportsman XP 850 H.O and Sportsman 550, will feature EPS as standard on all models. Also, the rear suspension geometry developed originally for the Model Year 2013 Scrambler sport ATV will be carried across the Sportsman XP 850 and 550 lines. With a 42 percent reduction in track change (also known as scrub) than the previous version, the suspension moves more freely through its range, resulting in a noticeably more compliant ride.

Polaris also is offering several limited edition models for 2014, all including EPS, on the Sportsman XP 850 H.O. EPS, Sportsman 550 EPS, Scrambler XP 850 H.O. EPS, Sportsman Touring 850 EPS and Sportsman Touring 550 EPS.

Polaris’ Youth line up will include five models based upon the Specialty Vehicle Institute of America’s (SVIA) Youth ATV Categories, the RANGER RZR ® 170 (Y-10+ and T with Big Wheel Kit), Phoenix 200 (T), Sportsman 90 (Y-10+), Outlaw 90 (Y-10+) and Outlaw 50 (Y-6+).

Polaris RANGER ® utility vehicles are the Hardest Working, Smoothest Riding Side-by-Sides available in full-size, midsize and multipassenger models. For Model Year 2013, Polaris defined an all new class of Hardest Working, Smoothest Riding with the full size RANGER XP® 900. For 2014, all the benefits of the RANGER XP 900 now can be found on the all-new, multi-passenger RANGER CREW® 900.

The RANGER CREW 900 offers hardest working features such as a 60 horsepower ProStar™ 900 engine, ability to tow a ton, new high capacity battery and stator, and integrated Lock & Ride™ PRO-FIT™ cab accessories. To complement the hardest working features, the RANGER CREW 900 features a restyled, all-new cab and a more rigid chassis for a new level of smoothest riding in a multi-passenger vehicle. The completely redesigned cockpit fits five people more comfortably and offers class-leading ergonomics, including a new center console with added storage and cup holders. For an incredibly smooth ride and optimal handling that complements the longer wheelbase, the vehicle features an all-new chassis that is more rigid, with increased torsional stiffness. This delivers a smoother ride, low vibration and the ability to tackle anything that stands in the vehicle’s way. The RANGER CREW 900 has easy steering with or without Electronic Power Steering (EPS), and features 5 in/12.7 cm more wheelbase, 1 in/2.5 cm more rear suspension travel and 11.3 in/28.7 cm of ground clearance.

The midsize RANGER and midsize multi-passenger lines also have new members for 2014 with the introduction of the RANGER 570 EFI and RANGER CREW 570 EFI. These vehicles have all of the hardest working, smoothest riding features found on the previous 500cc versions: On-Demand True All-Wheel Drive with VersaTrac, Independent Rear Suspension, high ground clearance and the longest suspension travel in their classes with the addition of a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 570 engine delivering smooth acceleration and 40 horsepower, giving the vehicles 25 percent more power than previous models.

Also new for 2014, the midsize and midsize multi-passenger limited edition models will feature EPS for the first time. They include the RANGER 800 EPS Midsize, RANGER 570 EPS and RANGER CREW 570 EPS models. Other limited edition models offered for 2014 include the RANGER XP 900 EPS, RANGER 800 EPS and RANGER CREW 900 EPS.

Polaris RZR ® has defined the recreational side-by-side by offering the broadest line of vehicles including trail, high performance and four seat offerings for the ultimate combination of power, suspension and agility. This past December, Polaris introduced the most powerful, most comfortable and most premium RZR ® ever built, the RZR ® XP 900 H.O. Jagged X Edition, which was so popular, Polaris had to extend the offering of this limited edition vehicle. For Model Year 2014, Polaris is making enhancements to current product offerings along with introducing more limited edition models consumers want.

New for 2014 is a new, premium trail model, the RZR ® 800 EPS XC Edition. The 55 in/139.7 cm vehicle will appeal to the trail enthusiast who isn’t confined to 50 in/66 cm trails and wants premium features for increased performance. It features a Matte Black color scheme with custom graphics; power steering; Walker Evans shocks on all four corners; comfortable, black-on-black PRP seats with adjustable slide; LED headlights; wide fender flares; and 14 in/35.6 cm Vader rims with 26 in/66 cm Maxxis Bighorn tires.

Other enhancements to the 2014 RZR ® line include dual rate springs on the RZR ® 800 and RZR ® 570, Bighorn tires on all base RZR ® 800 S and 900 models, and all RZR ® limited edition models will feature electronic power steering.

Polaris will have a wide variety of accessories available for ATV, RANGER and RZR vehicles. More information about Polaris’ whole line of off-road vehicle offerings can be found online at www.polaris.com.
