Polaris has enjoyed spectacular success with their off-road lineup. It seems every year new model announcements introduce a flood of new ATVs and Side x Sides and over time the total number of machines in the Polaris stable has grown to well over 100. For 2017, Polaris is concentrating less on all-new machines and more on quality and refinement, with a good dose of technology backing it up.

The term is “economy of scale”. What it means to a manufacturer like Honda, Kawasaki, or Can-Am is getting the most out of their design, tooling, and testing dollars by using the same parts on as many different models as possible. In the ATV world no manufacturer takes that concept to heart more than Polaris. It’s a good bet that if you own any given Polaris ATV or Side x Side there will be a bunch of parts that are found on several other models as well.

RM Stator Polaris Ignition Updates

There are millions of older model ATVs and early Side x Sides still on the trail and ready for another decade of action.  Like an older truck, though, after long and faithful service even the best of machines will require a little massaging, and some parts are known to be prone to failure. Ignition and electrical problems always pop up unexpectedly with no warning, they’re often difficult to diagnose, and they’re never cheap to fix.
