Kawasaki is a company on the move. They’re constantly tweaking their ATV and Side x Side lineups to make every model better, and since the overall number of Kawasaki models is a little smaller than some competitors, they can really hone the fine details that can make or break a design. For 2016 the majority of their effort was focused on a model released only a little over a year ago.

If you own an Arctic Cat 400 or Suzuki Eiger 400, chances are that you’ve experienced or at least heard of the flywheel failure that plagues these otherwise great ATVs. One minute you’re riding along and everything is running smoothly, and out of nowhere and for no apparent reason your engine coughs and you roll to a stop. You know you’re not out of fuel, but it doesn’t take long to realize you are out of spark, and that points to the dreaded electrical gremlins.

When Polaris introduced the ACE platform a year and a half ago, we knew it was only a matter of time before they would follow it up with additional single seat models. It wasn’t a long wait. Later in the year came the ACE 570, and most recently they’ve unleashed the new ACE 900 SP.

The great thing about all-terrain vehicles is, well, they’re all-terrain vehicles. While motorcycle and Jet Ski riders roll to a stop when the weather turns nasty, we grab a different set of gear, prep our machine for Mother Nature’s worst, and head back out to the deer blind and drifts! Before you can put a head mount on the wall, though, there are a few things you need to do for yourself and your machine to prepare for any winter expedition. We’ll give you our tips.

You never really know a machine until you spend time with it on your own turf.  When KYMCO released their innovative UXV 450i more than a year ago we were impressed.  The new mid-sized machine looked great, had several innovative features, and it was an all-new chassis.  We knew there was more to discover with the 450i though, and we couldn’t wait to get it on the trail and to work.

Motocross was my life’s passion. For 24 years I had raced at all levels and made it a career, finally winning the 1996 AMA East/East-West shootout and becoming the four-stroke National Champion. I was on top of the world, but as sometimes happens in life, I was blindsided by an event I never saw coming.

A year ago we were treated to a tour of Kawasaki's sprawling, Lincoln, Nebraska manufacturing plant for a factory tour, and for the introduction of one of the most important models Kawasaki has ever built.  There on the edge of the prairie is the birthplace of nearly every Kawasaki ATV, Jet Ski watercraft, Teryx Side x Side, and hardworking yet often overlooked Mule utility vehicle.  That day marked a turning point for the lowly Mule, though.  It was the unveiling of the completely new, modern, and most capable Mule ever, the Mule Pro-FXT.

One of the things we like best about ATV riding is the family aspect of the sport. There’s nothing better than watching a parent, or even a grandparent, help a young boy or girl learn to ride. Like baseball, ATV riding has become one of the very few sports and activities that can transcend age and generational differences, and it’s not uncommon to see 3 generations of riders enjoying that same trailside exploration that we came to know so many years ago. It’s what family activities were meant to be!

A Couple Handy Accessories from QUADBOSS

You can never have too much storage on any off-road machine. There are always tools, tow straps, tie-downs, and snacks to carry. On most utility style ATVs and Side x Sides manufacturers do a pretty good job of building in storage compartments under seats, the front hood, or in the dash, but on any sporty machine, available space is often limited. That is particularly true for our trusty Polaris RZR 900 S, but QuadBoss had the answer to our problem.
