The secondary spring is always used with one of the supplied primary springs. We have included two options for primary springs and either will function in this package. Some riders use a certain tire size for seasonal use or conditions, and not all riders like the same clutch characteristics. It is not that one spring or the other is better, it is personal preference. There is good detail on the characteristics in the "set up guide" that comes with the kit.
