CYPRESS,Calif. –June9, 2015– YamahaMotorCorp., USA, todayannounced thefirst quarter2015GRANT (GuaranteeingResponsible Accesstoour Nation’sTrails)recipientsfrom theYamahaOutdoorAccessInitiative. Thisquarter, morethan$95,000wascontributedto eight projectssupporting theprogram’s industry-leadingdedication tosafe, responsible riding andopensustainableaccesstoland, trailsandridingareasforOHVusers.
“Recognizing OHVridersarealsohunters, fishermen, campers, farmersandoutdoor enthusiasts,Yamaha’s Outdoor AccessInitiativehasspentthepastyear investinginprojects that directlybenefit thepublic’sabilitytoaccesslandforworkandplay,”saidMikeMartinez, Yamaha’sATV/SxSgroupVicePresident.“Theoutdoor recreationcommunityhas responded well to theexpandedplatformof theGRANTprogram,submittingmorethoughtful andwell- designedprojects that embraceandprotect thediverseusesofpublicland;somethingwehope toseemoreofinthecomingfundingcycles.”

The YamahaOutdoor AccessInitiativeis the industry leader in GuaranteeingResponsible AccesstoourNation’sTrails(GRANTs).Throughthisprogram,Yamahahasdirectlyand indirectlysupportedthousandsof milesoftrails, maintainedandrehabilitatedcountlessriding areas, improvedstagingareas, builtbridgesover fish-bearingstreamsandpartneredwithlocal ridingcommunitiesacross thecountryto improve theOHVexperience. Eachquarter,Yamaha acceptsapplicationsfromnon-profitor tax-exemptorganizationsincluding OHVridingclubsand associations, national, stateand local publiclanduseagencies, outdoorenthusiast associations andlandconservationgroupswithaninterest inprotecting,improving,expandingand/or maintainingaccessfor safe, responsibleandsustainableusebymotorizedoff-roadvehicles. A committeethenreviewseachapplicationandawardsGRANTstodeservingprojects. Examples ofappropriateprojectsfor GRANTs include,butarenotlimitedto:

Trail signageandmapproduction
Stagingareaconstruction, renovationandmaintenance
Landstewardship, safetyandeducation
