Portland, OR (11/1/16) – Warn Industries has announced the release of its redesigned VR series of winches for trucks, Jeeps, and SUVs. Warn is taking the winches to the next level with a unique new design, best-in-class performance, and upgraded durability.
WARN® VR winches are designed, engineered, and tested by WARN engineers. They rise above generic, no-name winches and have features that put them at the head of the pack.
New Features, New Levels of Performance All WARN VR winches now have upgraded electrical control in the form of a genuine Albright® contactor in place of solenoids. These waterproof contactors are the best on the market and provide unmatched durability, reliability, and control. 
The contactor resides in an all-new convertible control pack that can be left integral to the winch for a more upright appearance, or can be relocated to allow for in-bumper applications, or simply a lowprofile look. The control pack sits atop a new one-piece tie plate, which is stronger than previous VR’s tie bars, helps to increase structural rigidity, and reduce noise. Plus, it adds a state-of-the-art look. The winches also now come with a black hawse fairlead adding to the winches’ unique, rugged, tactical style.
Unlike some of the no-name winches on the market, the new VR features a class-leading cone brake that will hold the full-rated load and provides outstanding operator control and load-holding ability. The new VR winches also have a redesigned, easy-to-use clutch handle that is easy to turn, and fits perfectly in the hand—even when wearing gloves.
In addition, all WARN truck winches sold in North America—including VR—now feature a best-in-class limited lifetime mechanical warranty and a new, longer, best-in-class seven year electrical warranty.
Six Models Available Warn will offer its VR winches in 8,000, 10,000, and 12,000 lb. capacities and all of them can be had with durable, heavy-duty steel rope (VR 8, VR 10, VR 12) or lightweight, easy-to-handle synthetic rope (VR 8-S, VR 10-S, VR 12-S).
All VR winches offer powerful, efficient motors; durable, smooth three-stage planetary gear trains; and are backed by legendary WARN customer service.
