Venom 4020DQ Completes Road Test with Flying

K-Z and Lippert Components recently partnered to test K-Z’s Venom 4020DQ toy hauler at the Navistar Proving Grounds near South Bend, Indiana. This toy hauler boasts a 20-foot garage and front living room that rest on a fully-welded Lippert chassis that has a carrying capacity of over 5,000 pounds.
The assessments were conducted over 1,000 miles of extreme obstacles, replicating 40,000 to 60,000 actual highway miles. The road tests consisted of staggered rolling bumps, long stretches of large cobblestones, long stretches that rapidly load and unload each axle, figure-8 axle side impact and emergency stops.
The tests were conducted using three different cargo load setups; normal use, extreme rear load, and full capacity. And the results? No chassis failures! The 4020DQ completed the entire test without any failures.
John Kauffman, K-Z engineer, noted that, “Overall, I was very pleased with the results, and how everything held up throughout the testing. We were able to run the entire program without anything failing, which, is very unusual in this type of aggressive test.”
