There is only one first in any industry or endeavor and in the ATV world the company that can lay claim to being the first on four wheels is Suzuki. What began as the humble, yet groundbreaking LT 125 way back in 1983 quickly transformed an industry. Suzuki followed up the LT 125 with several other models, and before long they were leading the way on both the racetrack and the trails. As the industry evolved, so did the Suzuki lineup with ever more capable machines. Corporate fortunes can turn quickly however, and when the automotive side of Suzuki stumbled, the entire power sports group – motorcycle, marine, and ATV – was sucked into the vortex. After a painful corporate restructuring the power sports divisions have begun to pick up the pieces and today Suzuki is working back to full strength with a core group of ATVs. It’s back to basics, but the basics are very good already!
Thankfully Suzuki’s top of the line KingQuad models were far enough ahead already they still remain competitive today. Wrapped in smooth flowing bodywork, the King Quad’s high-strength steel chassis is very durable, but also supremely rideable thanks to dual A-arms at the front, and independent suspension at the rear. From the large, T-bone style seat that has become a Suzuki signature, the KingQuad 750 is very comfortable.
A raised, integrated foot peg keeps your feet anchored above floor boards that drain water away quickly, and the gated, gear shift lever just ahead of your left knee is super smooth and the best in the business. We also like the center pod mounted third headlight, and the easy to read digital instrument cluster. It’s been our experience the KingQuad 750 is extremely reliable. A 722cc liquid-cooled DOHC 4-valve fuel-injected engine mated to a fully automatic CVT style transmission delivers plenty of power for any task we’ve tried, and electronic power steering makes all day rides easy. About our only complaint are the tires which could be more aggressive although the ride is very good. How good is the Suzuki KingQuad 750? We’ve bought two of them.
SUZUKI KINGQUAD 750 AXi

Essentially an identical chassis package to the KingQuad 750, the KingQuad 500AXi has all the same great features as it’s more powerful brother, but with a single cylinder, high performance, 493cc, SOHC, liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine. Its cylinder is canted forward for a lower center of gravity, reduced engine height, and lower seat height, and the engine also features a counter balancer to eliminate vibration. The lightweight aluminum cylinder bore is electro-plated with Suzuki's own race proven SCEM (Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material) for improved heat transfer and tighter piston clearance and a high capacity aluminum radiator with large diameter cooling fan provides stable engine operating temperature. We’ve put many miles on a KingQuad 500 AXi and it’s a great machine. You won’t be disappointed with the 500 AXi!
SUZUKI KINGQUAD 500 AXi

Suzuki’s mid-sized engine utility ATV is the KingQuad 400. While it looks very much like the KingQuad 750 and KingQuad 500 thanks to bodywork styling, it’s an entirely different chassis and engine package. At the front the chassis features dual A-arms but at the rear is a swingarm style rear suspension. Power is from a fuel-injected, 376cc four-stroke, four-valve engine with a factory-installed oil cooler and thermostat-controlled cooling fan designed to keep the engine running smoothly even under extended heavy loads. Mated to the engine is Suzuki’s advanced QuadMatic CVT style transmission with high-low range and reverse, and just like it’s big brothers, 2wd/4wd is selected with a thumb switch on the handlebars. Large, 25-inch Maxxis tires with aggressive dual-stage treads offer consistent traction in wet conditions and good ride on hard-packed trails.
SUZUKI KINGQUAD 400 ASi

The economy model in the Suzuki Utility ATV lineup is the trusty Ozark 250. While the Ozark 250 comes with 2wd only and features a five speed transmission mated to an automatic clutch it’s still a fun trail explorer. Power for the Ozark comes from a single cylinder, 246cc SOHC, air-cooled 4-stroke engine. Rather than electronic fuel injection, the Ozark uses a Mikuni carburetor mated to a large capacity airbox and tuned exhaust system

The QuadSport Z400 is one of our favorite sport ATVs. In fact, we’ve named it ATV of the Year. There are a lot of features that make the Z400 special, but as a package it works! Suzuki gives the Z400 their latest, race proven, lightweight 398cc 4-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled Dual Overhead Cam engine with counter-balancer. A 16 bit EFI unit insures the compact engine runs strong throughout the power band, and it begs to be ridden hard on the trail. Excellent suspension is found at both ends, and in the seat it feels exactly like a sport machine should; it’s narrow between the knees, aggressive, and ready for all the action you can take. Little riders don’t get left behind with the Suzuki lineup and one of the most popular machines of all time is the LT 80. Countless riders began their lifelong love of ATV riding on an LT80 and the QuadSport Z90 is designed to pick up where the LT 80 left off. Everything about the QuadSport Z90 is designed for easy riding, and the engine is an air cooled, single cylinder, 90cc 4-stroke, designed for durability and low maintenance.
