PARTY AT THE RIVER

Beurrier, Griffin & VanBeekum Headed To The BlueWater Desert Challenge

Chandler, AZ October 4, 2016 – Doing things a bit differently, Best In The Desert's BlueWater Desert Challenge Presented By Polaris is being billed as a party at the Colorado river. Two days of racing over a course winding along the Colorado river offer some challenges and unique viewing opportunities. It has been a tough season, but three DragonFire Pro Production UTV teams of Lacrecia Beurrier, Russell Griffin and Bobby VanBeekum are ready to rock at the River October 6-8.

“It is a great two-day race in Parker, Arizona,” says Best in the Desert director Casey Folks. “Bring your race vehicle and your boat, because when you aren’t on the track you can watch great racing from your boat along the mighty Colorado River!” Guess Casey figures the teams deserve a little R&R after the “Longest Off-Road Race in the United States” Vegas to Reno round?

Speaking of R&R, VanBeekum comes to the Desert Challenge with something to prove after DNF in the R-N-R Steel Racing RZR at Vegas To Reno. “The BlueWater Desert Challenge features a shorter loop format rather than the extreme point-to-point event that Vegas to Reno,” he explains. “But it allows teams to make adjustments and fine tune their vehicles for the second day of all-out sprint style racing which better suits my style.” Bobby starts 4th off the line on race day.

Lady luck also smiled on Lacrecia Beurrier who drew 2nd position, just behind the legendary Larry Ragland. “This is just the break I needed,” says the 3X Mint 400 winner and 2015 Unlimited UTV champ. “I am just out of second place in the BITD points chase, so I need to start up front, stay up front and race as hard as I possibly can to turn this season around.” Look for Lacrecia's pink RZR at the front of the pack all weekend.

“It is great that everyone thinks pink during Breast Cancer Awareness month, but we have dedicated every race to the cause from day one,” says the registered nurse from nearby Lake Havasu. Keep your eyes on the #1924 Polaris RZR at the BITD BlueWater Challenge as Lacrecia races for a reason! You can't miss the pink ribbons and pink trim!

After finishing the Vegas To Reno marathon just ahead of Lacrecia, the Keyscrete RZR of Jimmy Keys and Russell Griffin is battling for bragging rights as the top DragonFire team once again. “We enjoy a good party and are looking forward to the trip from the Mississippi to the Colorado River,” says Russell. “But it will be even more fun to finish first.” However before the Keyscrete guys can start partying, they will have to overcome a back of the pack starting position on Saturday.
