NORTON, VA  - June 26, 2015 - Southwestern Virginia’s hottest economic development initiative continues to sharpen its cutting edge approach with the launch of a new online destination.  The recently launched and refreshed website features a video background on its homepage which immediately immerses visitors into the Spearhead Trails experience. Also featured is the initiative’s new logo, which illustrates the organization’s mission toward the development of outdoor recreation and adventure tourism in the Heart of Appalachia region of Southwestern Virginia.

“Riders and visitors will be able to find everything they need to plan a trip to Spearhead Trails,”  says Executive Director, Chuck Riedhammer.   “You can find information on all of our trails, get directions, download trail maps, and even buy a trail permit online.  This is phase one of a three phase rollout that will eventually include downloadable GPS trail maps, and an extensive online store for Spearhead merchandise.”

Spearhead Trails’ new website will also feature lodging, dining, and entertainment information so visitors can plan their entire trip before they arrive. Social media integration is also key to the functionality of this site and riders will have a chance to contribute to content through Facebook and Instagram interfaces.

The website can be found at www.SpearheadTrails.com.
