Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki Racers Excited To Get Pro Motocross Season Started
CORONA, Calif. (May 17, 2017) – Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki is geared up and ready to make the most of its healthy lineup of riders as the Pro Motocross season kicks off this weekend at Hangtown MX outside of Sacramento, California. Adam Cianciarulo, Austin Forkner, Justin Hill and Joey Savatgy will each be gunning for the 250 Class championship over the course of 12 rounds that span the entire country.
Last season, Cianciarulo lined up for his first race coming off injury at Hangtown, making him more excited to enter 2017 with a series worth of racing already under his belt. To top that off, Cianciarulo is carrying the most momentum of any rider in the 250 Class paddock as the recent East/West Shootout winner in Las Vegas less than two weeks ago. With a best finish of eighth at Hangtown, Cianciarulo is prepared to make the opening round one to remember.
“I’ve definitely struggled at Hangtown in the past, but I’ve also had to come into outdoors the past two years with no racing under my belt yet compared to most of the other riders,” said Cianciarulo. “I’m hoping that will be the difference this year as I’ve been able to get behind the gate and even win so far this year.”
In his sophomore season on the Pro Motocross circuit, Forkner is faced with a lot of expectations as the winner of the season finale in 2016. In addition to the win, Forkner also collected an additional four overall podium finishes, and only finished outside the top 10 overall results one time.
“I’m looking forward to this outdoor season because I felt like I was getting better after every race last year,” said Forkner. “So with one year under my belt and a great team behind me, I’m feeling confident we can run up front.”
The 2017 Western Regional Supercross Champion Hill will enter the Pro Motocross season with some newfound confidence gained during the season indoors. Last season Hill struggled with an injury, which kept him out of several races. He’s hoping 2017 is his year to do the double and claim both championships.
“I’ve always loved outdoors, but I know the competition is stiff this year, especially within my own team,” said Hill. “It takes a lot to be there week in and week out and I’m ready to do the work and be on the podium.”
After an incredibly close runner-up finish in the supercross championship, Savatgy is looking to start the Pro Motocross season like he did last year – with the overall win. He’s ready to put the indoor season behind him and get ready to conquer the great outdoors.
“I’ve been having a lot of fun riding outdoors and I’m very much ready to get the season going,” said Savatgy. “Everyone at the farm (where Savatgy trains) has been working really hard with me and it’s going to be nice to get a fresh start.”
The Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki team will be signing autographs at the track on Saturday in between practice sessions. Head to the Factory Kawasaki rig to find out an exact time. The broadcast for the race will start on MavTV for the first motos at 4:00 p.m. ET then they switch over to NBCSN at 6:00 p.m. for the second motos.
