CYPRESS, Calif. – November 3, 2014 – Yamaha ATV Racing capped a record breaking, championship winning season this year with the new 2014 YFZ450R filling podium spots and taking top honors in motocross and cross country racing. Among the year’s highlights for team blue, Yamaha’s Dustin Nelson celebrated a record sixth QuadX Series championship, Chad Wienen took his third straight AMA Racing title, and Yamaha received the AMA Pro ATV Manufacturer’s title for the third year in a row. “I’m proud to cap off this racing season with my sixth QuadX championship,” Nelson said. “The 2014 YFZ450R ran flawlessly at every event carrying me all the way to the #1 plate!”

CYPRESS, Calif. – September 24, 2014 – Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., employees and volunteers returned to the San Bernardino National Forest in advance of National Hunting and Fishing Day and National Public Lands Day planting shrubs and cleaning up OHV areas for the seventh straight year alongside members of the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) and Southern California Mountains Foundation (SCMF). More than 40 volunteers including Yamaha employees, their friends and family members contributed more than 200 hours over a recent weekend. Their mission: Help restore and rehabilitate misused and neglected areas of Coxey Meadow, a busy family recreation area enjoyed by thousands of outdoor enthusiasts each year. Their work resulted in the planting and watering of more than 450 native shrubs including sagebrush, rabbit brush and buckwheat, and slashing activities within the 60-acre area.

CYPRESS, Calif. – August 14, 2014 – Yamaha Racing’s Chad Wienen captured a historic third straight AMA Pro ATV MX Series Championship last weekend, and his Yamaha and Wienen Motorsports teammate Thomas Brown took third overall for the season. The pair have been riding their YFZ450Rs to the top of the podium all season capping 2014 with first and third place finishes at the finale at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn., on Saturday, August 9. Wienen scored 1-2 on the day for an overall win, while Brown grabbed 2-3 giving him third overall at Loretta’s. "The 2014 season was one to remember – the entire Wienen Motorsports Yamaha Team worked in sync,” Wienen said. “We were able to accomplish big results this year by winning eight out of the nine rounds for our team. Yamaha has provided us with race-winning performance once again with the 2014 YFZ450R, and we are looking forward to the 2015 season aboard Yamaha again."

CYPRESS, Calif. – August 12, 2014 – Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., today announced it is contributing more than $65,000 in cash and equipment to eight GRANT (Guaranteeing Responsible Access to our Nation’s Trails) recipients under the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative.  The projects awarded GRANTs support the program’s industry-leading dedication to safe, responsible riding and open sustainable access to land, trails and riding areas for OHV users. “The OHV community is embracing the expanded platform of the Outdoor Access Initiative and we encourage all recreationists who rely on OHVs to access the outdoors to keep an eye out for projects that promote and protect that access,” said Mike Martinez, Yamaha’s ATV/SxS group Vice President.  “We recognize that by broadening the scope of the GRANT program, we increase competition for the funds available but, as a result, we expect to see projects that have a greater benefit to all OHV enthusiasts.”
