Trailers and Ramps

HAULING YOUR ATV or UTV TO THE TRAIL OR THE CONSTRUCTION SITE IS PART OF THE EXPERIENCE.   WHETHER IT ARRIVES SAFELY IS ON YOU.   WE’VE GOT A FEW TIPS AND IMPORTANT TOOLS TO MAKE TRAILERING SAFER AND EASIER.

It goes without saying that it’s good for all of us and a great feeling to buy products made in the ‘ole USA. Buying from home means we are helping skilled workers put meals on the tables of American families just like ours. Of course the bottom line when making a purchase is always quality and price, and recently we’ve been using a trailer that provides both.

ROAD TIME

One feature shared by every type of off-road enthusiast, whether they ride a dirt bike, ATV, or even a jeep, is that when it comes time to haul it, you will need a good set of ramps. They’re a tool every bit as necessary as your tire gauge, spark plug wrench, and tie down straps.

Whether you’re headed to the dunes, woods, motocross track, or the deer camp, you’ll almost certainly have to haul your ATV or Side x Side to get there. That means your best trail buddy will be riding in the back of your truck or trailer, and getting it loaded can be a sketchy maneuver fraught with the possibility of disaster.

We’re always looking for a way to get more out of every vehicle whether it’s an ATV or Side x Side or our truck.  The trouble is, with an ATV or Side x Side in the bed of our truck there’s barely any room left for any camping, hunting, or fishing gear.  While some of that can be jammed into the cab, a little more space in the back would be extremely handy.   The people from X-TREME GATE apparently had the same problem but they also came up with a unique solution.

Until you can open the shed door and ride right to the trails, your deer blind, or the work site, you’ll need to haul your ATV or Side x Side sometimes.  That puts you squarely in the same boat as almost every other rider, and nothing would end your next adventure quicker than having your machine unload itself onto the road.  Whether you ride a Polaris, Yamaha, Can-Am or Arctic Cat, the one thing you must do is fasten it down securely.

Whether you ride an ATV, a sporty Side x Side, or a hard working UTV, if you’re going to haul it, you’re also going to need ramps.  Most ATV ramps easily handle the weight of the ATV and rider, but are dangerously overloaded with a Side x Side that is often more than double the quad’s weight.  Crashing to the ground as an undersized ramp collapses, and in the process screwing up your machine, your truck, and possibly you, is not the way to start a great weekend of riding.

Unless the riding area, hunting camp, and job site is right behind your house you’ll surely be hauling your ATV and Side x Side on a regular basis.  For many of us that means every time we drive it.  A trailer is the best tool for the job when it comes time to haul your machine, but regardless of the brand or size you definitely need to make sure it is securely attached to the trailer.  One of the best tools we have seen for securing your machine safely is the MIGHTY TITE load security system.

Regardless of whether you ride a Kawasaki, Honda, Polaris, or Kymco, every ATV and Side x Side owner has to haul their machine at times, and loading in the back of a pickup is not an option with the larger machines, even with full-sized trucks. Unless you ride, hunt, and never leave the property behind your house, you’re going to need a trailer.
