No other company enjoys the loyal following Honda has earned and it all comes down to a couple key things: attention to detail, and reliability.  Regardless of the model we’re sure it was well built, and we’re also sure we won’t end up walking back to the truck.  Whether it’s the Rincon 680, Foreman 500, or the Rancher 420 we know we can count on it for all day work or fun.  The Honda sport ATV lineup is built on those same principles.

Torrance, CA: Honda enters the 2013 model-year season with a host of options for off-road and street-riding fun. First, consider two fun scooters that contain significant upgrades: the thoroughly revised Metropolitan and a new PCX scooter with a larger-displacement engine that now makes it capable for freeway use. Both models feature an easy-to-operate automatic transmission along with extremely fuel-efficient engines—just the thing for countering rising fuel prices. And then peruse Honda’s strong lineup of utility ATVs that simply get it done—whether “it” is a day filled with tough tasks or a weekend escape to your favorite backwoods getaway.

No company in the history of ATVs has had more influence than Honda. Other than a few six or eight wheeled amphibious vehicles that found a niche with sportsman and work crews for their ability to traverse wet or dry terrain, it was the cute, little trike, the 1970 model ATC 90 that grabbed immediate acceptance and launched a sport. Suddenly those that were intimidated by riding a motorcycle off-road had another option, and even British secret agent James Bond hopped on an ATC 90. Honda had started an industry!

Honda unveiled the fifth generation Honda Foreman ATV at its South Carolina production facility in Florence. The redesigned 4x4 was the first machine fully developed/produced – from concept to production – entirely in the United States. We took part in the quad’s initial production, or “Line Off” ceremony, at HSC prior to riding it at Carolina Adventure World a day later.

Regardless of where you go, there are Side x Sides hard at work or play. What started years ago as simple utility vehicles, such as Kawasaki’s Mule, was quickly adapted by sportsman as Polaris introduced the Ranger, and then Yamaha jumped on the sport aspect with their Rhino. Today there are models of every size and for every imaginable use. For manufacturers already in the powersports business, it made sense to introduce another product line for their dealers and customers. While other brands gobbled up sales, the question was always: when would Honda bring out a Side x Side of their own?
