Whether you’re tending a hunting food plot, a backyard garden, or a huge field, weed control is the key to a healthy crop. Kill the weeds, spread a little fertilizer, and with a rain shower now and then you have a good chance at a successful stand. The first step is to kill the weeds.
We’ve all been there - knee or even seat deep in muck and mire while friends watch safely from the edge. They’re too far away to be of much help, none too anxious to wade into the quagmire and save you from a problem of your own making, and truth be told, it’s always a little amusing to see somebody else stuck anyway. You’re pretty much on your own. At this point, you’ve only got two possible sources of help you can count on: divine intervention, and a WARN winch. No doubt, past indiscretion has cost you mightily with the almighty, so you had better count on Warn.
Through the years we’ve worked on just about every ATV or Side x Side ever built. In that time we’ve also collected quite a few tools, but there are a few that we use all the time. If you’re planning on doing much riding you can expect to use a few tools also, and we’ve put together our list of the “dirty dozen” tools we recommend you include in your tool box. Own these and you can do just about any job in the off-road world.
Even the most familiar trail looks completely different at night. With deep shadows, dark corners and obstacles you now see only at the last moment it’s almost like exploring an all-new area. As much as we appreciate the last second thrills however, we’ve always been the type that likes to see anything headed our way long before it meets the front bumper, and nothing helps light up the trail better than a good set of lights.
We ride many different types of trails, from open two-track, to dunes, to tight northern forest, and that means our machines must be prepared for anything. Like most riders we like to keep our ATVs and Side x Sides looking as good as possible and a big part of that is proper protection.
Camping is part of many people’s trail and travel plans and we’ve decided to list some of the basics needed for a riding and camping adventure. We always go for gear that is durable, compact, and easy to pack on an ATV or Side x Side. Here are our favorites:

SXS vehicles are like dandelions… new models are popping up all over the place. Almost every major manufacturer now has at least one model on the market, each with its own design, style, features, and level of performance. But even bigger than the explosion of SXS vehicles into the off-road market is the explosion of OEM and aftermarket performance parts and accessories. From the off-road parks to the trails or the sand dunes, it’s hard to find a SXS out there that hasn’t been modified in some way.
Are you looking for a little more stability and flatter cornering from your UTV? Don’t want to spend thousands of dollars on longer A-arms, axles, and shocks? If so, Durablue has the hook-up for you.
One of the most popular vehicles ever for customization is the modern Side x Side. Not since the 60’s have people so willingly applied parts and paint to their vehicle, creating machines that reflect their personal taste while increasing functionality, and in some cases ending up with rolling works of modern art. Visit any dune riding area and you’ll quickly see what we mean. It won’t take you long to find an owner who has given their vehicle a name, and to him - or often her - it’s more than a simple sand toy; it’s part of who they are.
The one injury athletes in every sport fear is devastating damage to the spine. However remote the possibility, it’s always there and for the unfortunate few who suffer such an injury, it’s almost always a life changing event. Thankfully, new materials, better methods, and advanced medical research have aided the recovery for some, but nothing beats doing all you can to avoid the injury in the first place.
