AmPro Racing Announces 2018 GNCC Team Line Up!

February 23rd, 2018 Travelers Rest, SC

Following an outstanding 2017 race season that culminated in both a GNCC XC2 Pro Lites National Championship and a GNCC XC1 SXS Championship, we are excited to announce that our primary focus will continue to be the Grand National Cross Country Series for the 2018 race season.

Ricky Russell - XC1 Pro, Age 27, Duvall, Washington

Jonathan Johnson - XC2 Pro, Age 20, Landrum, SC

Grant Davis - Super Mini, Age 12, Meshoppen, PA

Cole Richardson - XC1 Pro ATV, Age 21, Edinburg, PA

Cody Miller - UXC1 PRO SXS DRIVER, Age 30, Cash, TX

“After more than 20 years with Yamaha Motor Corporation, we will continue to focus on building national champions,” says 7-Time AMA National Champion and AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Member Randy Hawkins. This has always been our goal, and we are excited to see what this program can do in 2018.”

On the motorcycle side, Ricky Russell and Jonathan Johnson will be piloting the Yamaha YZ450FX and YZ250FX platforms, while Grant Davis will be riding a YZ85 in the Super Mini Jr. Division.

In the 4-wheel divisions, we’re bringing back Texas native Cody Miller to defend his 2017 UXC1 SXS Championship in his YXZ1000R SS. Cole Richardson will also be returning to the program in the XC1 Pro ATV Division, after spending most of the previous season recovering from injuries.

“This will be my 5th year in the GNCC Series, and I’m so stoked to get out and race. The YZ450FX is so dialed, and I’m more focused than ever!” commented Ricky Russell.

“This is honestly a dream come true for me. I can’t believe I’m racing for the AmPro Program under Randy Hawkins. The team has been amazing, and my setup is incredible” said Jonathan Johnson.

“Last year was pretty rough for me, battling injuries and just staying focused, in general. I feel ready to compete, and I’m excited to get out there and aim for that number-one spot,” Cole Richardson said.

“The YXZ1000R has proven itself to be the best machine in its class, and I’m excited to be leading the charge with the number-one plate for the 2018 season,” Cody Miller commented.
